Countdown to Ontario Winter Games: Kingston AAA Development Camp Recap

Oct. 22, 2025

Kingston, ON - Ringette Ontario hosted the first of two AAA development camps in Kingston from October 3-5, 2025, in the lead up to the 2026 Ontario Winter Games.

Athletes, coaches, and officials from across the province took over the INVISTA Centre for two days of on-ice drills and classroom sessions, culminating in inter-squad games on the final day.

“This development focused camp was an opportunity for athletes to learn and grow within the high performance program,” said Ringette Ontario Operations Director and leader of the AAA Program, Steph Laurin.  “All athletes had an opportunity to work with different coaches and play alongside athletes from across the province.”

Athletes were split into three groups, cycling through power-skating, skills and drills, and mental performance sessions.  Every group also attended an Athlete Panel, having the opportunity to engage with athletes who previously participated in the AAA High Performance Program and Ringette Canada’s National Team Program.

Jenna Martin, a returning athlete to the AAA program, remarked “This camp was a great opportunity and experience to be able to train all aspects of the game with likeminded and hard-working athletes and coaches in preparation for Ontario Winter Games”

Program Coaches are diligently working to draft athletes into five teams ahead of the next development camp at The Aud in Kitchener from December 19-21, 2025.  At the conclusion of the second camp, Ringette Ontario will announce the athletes and coaching staff for each team.

Ringette will be featured in weekend one of the 2026 Ontario Winter Games in Orillia, ON.  Competition will take place at Rotary Place from February 20-22, 2026.
